1. Ditch the "We Are For Everyone" Fantasy
Your copy isn't a one-size-fits-all t-shirt. Segment your audience like a pro and speak their language. It’s better to have 100 people love you than 1M people kinda like you.
2. Look Beyond the Basics
Demographics are so last year. Dive deep into psychographics and behaviours to really get under your audience's skin. What is their role, job to be done, yada yada yada.
3. Match the Message to the Moment
Your audience's journey isn't a straight line. Customize your content for their ride—what info do people need at every step?
4. Assume Nothing, Deliver Everything
Don't expect your audience to know your jargon or share your enthusiasm by default. Start from scratch and win them over.
5. Test, Learn, Repeat
Thinking your copy's perfect on the first try? Cute, but no. A/B test your way to glory and let the data drive. A/B testing with friends is better than no A/B test.
6. Emotions for the Win
Logic makes people think, but emotion makes them act. Sell the dream, not just the thing. Interview current customers to learn what emotions played.
Know thy audience!
Practice what you preach, right? So help me out, who the hell are you?
Just the one question, pinky promise!
